After acing the role of gangster sister Haseena Parker, Shraddha Kapoor is all set to step into the shoes of ace badminton player Saina Nehwal. The makers of the biopic recently announced that the film has finally hit the floors.
The film that traces the journey of Saina Nehwal will star Shraddha Kapoor in the lead. It went on floors on September 22 in Mumbai.
Shraddha has been reportedly preparing for the film by training under former badminton player Pullela Gopichand. Reports were rife that the film was delayed as the actress struggled to pick up the nuances of the game for the movie.
The film is being directed by Amol Gupte.

Nandita Das’ ‘Manto’ has been getting rave reviews from the people who have seen the film and one of the most talked about aspect of it is the guest appearances from many actors like Divya Dutta, Ranvir Shorey, Gurdaas Maan, Paresh Rawal and Rishi Kapoor to name a few.
For Manto’s most controversial story titled ‘Thanda Gosht’, Nandita approached Divya Dutta knowing her calibre as an actress and Divya immediately agreed.
When asked if she had any kind of apprehensions before going bold for the movie, Divya said, “I had read ‘Thanda Gosht’ hence knew the story but Nandita being the one behind the camera helped a great deal. I am happy that I did the film and contributed in small little way.”
‘Manto’ starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui in titular role is slated to release on September 21.

Shah Rukh Khan, who has been experimenting with movies lately, will also in Rakesh Sharma biopic titled as ‘Salute’. Speculations have been going on for a long time about who the female lead would be and now a new name has cropped up. According to reports, Bhumi Pednekar is being considered for the role of the female lead in the film. Apparently, the makers have approached her and are discussing the script with her but are yet to officially take her on board. However, she is considered as one of the prime candidates at the moment. 4/130Amrita Rao to play Meenatai in Bal Thackeray biopic
Amrita Rao is all set to make her comeback on the silver screen opposite Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the Bal Thackeray biopic. Amrita, who was last seen in Anil Sharma’s ‘Singh Saab The Great’ is all geared up to essay the character of Meenatai Thackeray in ‘Thackeray’ which is based on the life of Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray.
Talking about the Amrita being a part of the film, Sanjay Raut, who is producing the film said that she is best suited for the role as Meenatai was Balasaheb’s backbone as she held the family together and was away from politics. Furthermore, Amrita has that same innocence on her face as her character.
This film would mark Amrita’s comeback after a hiatus of nearly five years. While Amrita will be seen essaying the character of Meenatai, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is essaying the titular role of Bal Thackeray.
5/130Sunny Deol keen to make a biopic on Dharmendra
Biopics are the current hot trend in Bollywood. With films on national leaders, sports icons and stories about film personalities currently being churned out on a large scale, it seems that another Bollywood star is eager to have another story told. In a recent media interaction, Sunny Deol was asked about making a biopic on his father, Dharmendra. Calling it the age of biopics, Sunny said it would definitely be a good idea to make one on the screen legend, but had only one condition. He said the project would be a good idea only if he got a suitable writer and director to tell the story.
He reportedly said that it cannot be random and that with the veteran actor being involved in it, making the biopic would definitely not be a cakewalk. He even revealed that his father was open to the idea and he would readily share his story.
According to reports when asked about starring in the biopic, he said that he had not thought much about it and added that his son would be ideal to play the part of a young Dharmendra.
