Salman’s ‘Loveratri’ is now ‘Loveyatri’

Salman Khan’s production featuring his brother-in-law Aayush Sharma and Warina Hussain has been in the headlines ever since its announcement due to its cast and interesting title–‘Loveratri‘.
As the film’s trailer was released in keeping with its upcoming release, religious organisation Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and some more citizens had taken offence to the title and had demanded that it be changed as it “hurt Hindu sentiments”.

Things took a more drastic turn when last week Bihar’s Muzzafarpur court ordered to file an FIR against Salman Khan and others for allegedly hurting Hindu sentiments. A tweet from ANI read, “Bihar’s Muzaffarpur Court gives orders to file FIR against Salman Khan and 7 other actors after a complaint was filed by an advocate against him and his production ‘Loveratri’ alleging that the title of the film hurts Hindu sentiments.”

After some protests and lawsuits were filed against the film, it seems like the makers have decided to change the title to ‘Loveyatri‘. Salman Khan took to his Twitter profile to share the news with a new poster of the film. He wrote, “This is not a spelling mistake… #loveyatri #lovetakesover…

As per a source, it was Salman’s decision to change the name. The film has been majorly shot in Gujarat and he doesn’t want to hurt the sentiments of people. The source added that he has taken this decision after considering the people’s emotions.
Now titled ‘Loveyatri’, the film is still slated to release on its scheduled date, October 5, 2018.
