The families of the heroes of the 1967 Indo-China war have expressed their gratitude to filmmaker J P Dutta for presenting the inspiring stories of these soldiers in his upcoming film ‘Paltan’. Based on the Nathu La military clashes which took place along the Sikkim border, the film showcases an untold story of the Indian forces facing off against a Chinese infiltration.
Speaking about his film, director JP Dutta said in a statement,”‘Paltan’ showcases the story of India’s bravest soldiers that had never been told before. I always say I have been blessed by the Almighty that I have been chosen to immortalize our soldiers for the country through the films I make.”
According to reports, Dutta has tried to highlight the reason why Sikkim still stands as a part of India. Playing these brave-hearts is an ensemble cast featuring Jackie Shroff, Arjun Rampal, Harshvardhan Rane, Gurmeet Choudhary, Abdul Qadir Amin, Sonu Sood, Rohit Roy, Siddhant Kapoor and Luv Sinha. The film also stars Sonal Chauhan, Esha Gupta, Monica Gill and Dipika Kakar.
‘Paltan’ hits theatres on 7 September.
