Salman Khan’s much-anticipated Eid release ‘ Race 3’ had a bumper opening as it collected Rs 27.69 crore on its first day in cinema halls. The film further progressed to have an even better day two at the box-office as it grossed Rs 36.25 crore and according to a report on BoxOfficeIndia.com, ‘Race 3’ brought in Rs 37 crore on Sunday. This brings the film’s total tally to Rs 100.94 crore.

The report added that ‘Race 3’ has scored well all over India, barring Tamil Nadu and Kerala but the trend in key centres such as Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar and Central India looks great all over. In a feat of sorts, the film has collected Rs 33 crore apprx in Mumbai alone and Rs 21 crore in Delhi.
The three-day collection of Rs 100.94 crore, makes it the biggest opening weekend of the year, beating the likes of ‘Padmaavat’ which had grossed Rs 75 crore in the first weekend, earlier this year. ‘Race 3’ has also become the sixth highest weekend of all time and the fourth highest opening weekend for a Salman Khan starrer.
‘Race 3’ sits behind film like ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’, ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, ‘Sultan’, ‘Dangal’, and ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ in the sixth position on the list of highest first-weekend collections.
The story of ‘Race 3’ revolves around the Singh family that constitutes of Shamsher (Anil Kapoor) his step-son Sikandar (Salman Khan), twins Suraj (Saqib Saleem) and Sanjana (Daisy Shah). They run a business of illegal arms and trade with the help of their friend Yash (Bobby Deol). Things get dramatic when Jessica (Jacqueline Fernandez) meets Sikandar and the family ties are strained under each character’s ulterior motives.
